Funerals and Memorials

Whether in the form of farewell service, a celebration of life, a memorial service or a wake. Acknowledging the grief and sadness at a time of loss forms an important part of the healing process.

I understand and recognise the grief at the most difficult time and do everything possible to provide support and guidance to ensure your loved one is given the send off they deserve and provide the opportunity for family and friends to recognise what their life meant to them.

A ritual or ceremony needs to provide a safe and secure space for people to mourn, both individually and as a group. The ceremony is a way of honouring, validating and affirming the individual’s life and pay tribute to a loved one. it is my role to help you do this in a professional, respectful and meaningful way. Each person has stories and a history and those closest to them have memories to share. It is about capturing the essence that made this individual unique and celebrating their life.

Ceremonies should be warm, endearing, sincere and need not be solemn. A heart warming allows the opportunity to laugh, cry or express whatever sentiment best suits the situation.

When you contact me to conduct a funeral or memorial service for your loved one we would arrange a time to meet and talk about your loved one, gather information that will identify how to best honour and remember your loved one’s life. I would guide you through the options and things to consider. I will ask questions that enable me to encapsulate your loved one’s personality, beliefs, values, experiences and history.

I will officiate the ceremony on the day and also officiate the burial if applicable. I also can also write the eulogy, if required, complete the Order of Service (and provide more contemporary suggestions) and I have a vast array of resources and comprehensive compendium to share in order to ensure the ceremony perfectly commemorates your loved one and their life.
